To have a safe and enjoyable candle burning experience, there is a bit of care required. Many may not put much thought into it but keeping that wick trimmed may be one of the most important things to remember when burning a candle and often solves many potential candle burning issues. 
Keeping a wick trimmed to the perfect length helps ensure a clean, even, safe burning flame that helps with having a longer-lasting candle and maximum fragrance. It will also help with keeping your jar from getting too hot as a large untrimmed wick can produce a large and very active hot flame.
A candles wick should be trimmed before or after each burn once the candle wax has cooled. Trim the wick trimmed to 1/8”-1/4” before relighting. This is the perfect length to have that perfect burn. This length also helps with completing full combustion which gives you less soot buildup on the inside of your jars. Burn your candle between 2-4 hours. To ensure your candle doesn’t tunnel, make sure your candle achieves a full melt pool on the top of the candle before extinguishing. It typically takes at least an hour to achieve a full melt pool.
If you're thinking that a pair of scissors will do the job, you may want to rethink that. Scissors are fine for trimming the wick of a brand new candle but they just can't do what a wick trimmer can, especially when your candle wax nears the bottom of the jar. Wick trimmers are designed to do one thing - trim a candle wick!
Our trimmers are designed to ensure the proper wick length. When trimming your wick, place the bottom of the trimmer flush with the top of the candle surface. Move the trimmer back so that its elbow rest on the surface. This keeps the wick trimmer at a 45 degree angle and ensures the perfect wick length.
